Nikon has issued a minor firmware update for its D4 professional DSLR. Versions A 1.04 and B 1.02 improve performance of the camera's Subject Tracking AF feature in AF-C (continuous-servo autofocus) mode when using the viewfinder.

At the same time, Canon has announced new firmware for the EOS-1D X camera. Some owners had noticed that it was easy to accidentally change the image size selection during shooting. Firmware Version 1.2.1 for the EOS-1D X adds a function to disable the Image size selection button. At the same time, the new firmware fixes a phenomenon in which Err 70 and Err 80 may occur in very rare instances depending on the camera settings or shooting scene.
