Nikon announce the new Nikon D3300 and AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II

Nikon have announced a new entry-level DSLR to replace the existing D3200 - the Nikon D3300.

The D3300 vs D3200 gains:
  • A new 24.2mp CMOS sensor with no optical low-pass filter
  • Expeed 4 Image Processor
  • ISO range now up to 25600!
  • Continuous shooting up to 5fps
  • 1080/60p Full HD video capability
  • New AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mmf3.5/5.6G VR II with collapsible design - 30% smaller and 20% lighter than the current 18-55 VR
So a very impressive specification and hardly what you would call entry-level!

The D3300 is very compact and lightweight especially with the new collapsible kit lens and is a very welcome addition to the Nikon range.

Availability is stated as February 2014, with the body due to be £499.99 or the kit with the 18-55mm VR II lens at £599.99. The D3300 will be available in Black, Red and Grey variations.
