Once I’d purchased it, I was overjoyed by how sharp the images were and how good the autofocus was in low light situations. I had found the perfect lens.
When using this lens for outdoor portraits, the sweet spot is between f/2.8 if you want maximum bokeh and f/3.5 to f/5.6 if you want a nice sharp image.
I have also used this lens for studio portraits and have found that it performs best at aperture f/11 for studio work, giving ultimate sharpness and great detail.
This lens is arguably the best lens I have ever owned for a DX Camera and I totally recommend it at all costs.
The shots featured in this blog were taken using my AF-S 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED DX lens and Nikon D90.
