Park Cameras Imaging Festival 2014 - London 21/6/14

The first ever London Park Cameras Imaging Festival took place at Park cameras London store on Saturday 21st June.

Expectations were high, following the successful imaging festival one week earlier at the Burgess Hill store but visitors to the London event were not to be disappointed!

With the entire Park Cameras London staff plus some expert assistance from the Burgess Hill Crew combined with representatives from 15 leading manufacturers, customers were sure of a warm and knowledgeable reception.

With several offers limited to the first few customers, a queue began to form outside the store well before opening.

When the doors opened at 10am eager photographers poured in to the store and immediately began snapping up some of the special offers.

Olympus OM-D series and Fuji X-Series cameras and lenses were a particular focus of attention with the superb Fuji XT-1 and the perfectly formed Olympus OM-D E-M10 much sought after.

The seminar program - all free of charge - started with a very popular presentation from Olympus on getting to know the OM-D. With a complex menu system and many ways of customising your results, customers were fascinated to learn from the experts.

The thoroughly entertaining John Clements then took centre stage with his very informative speedlight seminar and this was followed by former AP editor Damien Demolder on shooting portraits with the Fuji X-T1.

Simeon Quarrie then produced a fascinating seminar on the EOS 70D and it's special AF system that makes it equally suitable for stills and video work.

John Clements then repeated his earlier fully booked Speedlight seminar and then it was back to Damien for a street walk seminar and practical session using the Fuji X-T1.
Soho square was invaded by 23 photographers many brandishing Fuji X-series cameras loaned by Fuji UK and given instruction by Damien. He then reviewed pictures and gave tips on how to improve them sending the photographers back to try again!

Jon Gray then gave a taster seminar on Glamour Lighting with model Sammi Jo - Park cameras customers also had the chance to shoot Sammi too!

The seminar sessions were completed with Simeon Quarrie's entertaining and informative EOS 70D seminar which again was very well attended.
A steady stream of customers - many visiting Park cameras London store for the first time - were ably served by Park Cameras staff and assisted by the manufacturers representatives.

The impressive new Panasonic FZ1000 was the subject of a lot of interest from customers - this being the first chance to handle the camera in the UK for many since it was announced.

The mighty Nikon D4S and Canon EOS 1-DX were popular with customers eager to try two of the best Pro DSLR's on the market.

The superb new Tamron 150-600 and Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART lenses were very popular too as were the new Manfrotto bag and tripod ranges.

Manfrotto and Billingham had some great offers on the day so many took the chance to get a new bag and/or tripod and colour management tools were popular too.

Some extra special pre-owned deals were very quickly snapped up and the extensive range or used equipment in stock was constantly replenished during the day.

The day came to a close at 6.30pm as lots of happy customers headed home clutching their new purchases and full of newly acquired knowledge.

Same time next year everyone?
