New Manfrotto Off Road Tripod and Walking Sticks – Ideal for photo enthusiasts who enjoy hiking!

August sees the launch of the latest range from Italian tripod manufacturer Manfrotto.  The “Off Road Collection” is targeted at those looking for compact and lightweight products, specifically for outdoor photography.  The range includes a lightweight tripod and also an innovative walking stick which are both available in red, blue or green.

When picking up one of the Manfrotto ‘Off Road’ photographic walking sticks, you’ll find that they are some of the lightest poles on the market and feature a rotating head which contains a camera attachment.  The new range has been made in conjunction with Fizan, one of the world’s leaders in ski and trekking pole manufacturers.  The result is a multipurpose, light yet sturdy walking stick that doubles as a camera tripod. The aluminium build means that the pair weighs less than 400 grams and can still carry a payload of up to 2.5kg, easily enough to support any DSLR in today’s market.  One of Fizan’s main inputs into the design is a twist-to-lock mechanism which enables the pole to collapse telescopically.  Not only does this help with transportation, it also means that the poles can be unassembled for cleaning and then put back together without any trouble.  Another of Fizan’s influences can be seen in the handgrip and strap which will help you to uphold the correct posture and maintain maximum stability whilst hiking.

When purchasing the Off Road Walking poles, you get a pair and not just one for the price!

Joining the walking sticks in the range is the ‘Off Road Tripod’.  This product also boasts lightweight and compact abilities weighing in at just 650 grams, with a diameter of just 5cm.  Like the walking sticks, this tripod has been designed for those who enjoy hiking, and as such you’ll find it isn’t heavy or bulky, making it perfect to carry almost anywhere. The key features of this tripod include an aluminium photographic head capable of holding up to 2.5kg.  The head also includes a levelling bubble and a single locking knob, designed for quick and easy movements.  The camera wheel attachment provides a quick rotating incorporated disk which allows for easy camera set-up with the need for extra screws.  Like its partner in the collection the tripod also includes the Fizan engineered twist-to-lock system which are fast to set up and easy to clean.

We were fortunate enough to have a first look at the tripods at the British Birdfair at Rutland Water between 15-17th August. If you are looking for a lightweight, yet sturdy tripod then the new Off Road collection stands up excellently against its competitors in the market, with the added bonus of having telescopic legs.  The unique walking stick doubles as a lightweight nanopod saving the user weight and space.  So if you are an experienced hiker and no longer want to carry an extra tripod, or looking for a nanopod and need inspiration to start hiking this is the product for you!

The new ‘Off Road’ series is now in stock at both our stores in Central London and Burgess Hill (West Sussex), so if you’re local, please pop in and try these new products out for yourself! Alternatively visit www.ParkCameras.com where you can see the Off Road range online.
