New Olympus M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75mm f/1.8 ‘Prime Portrait’ lens
For all those who were wondering what the portrait reference was from Olympus last week, the secret can now be revealed as they have announced the M. ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 75mm f/1.8 ‘Prime Portrait’ lens.
This lens offers not only stunning optical quality, but also has been designed to match the retro-styled OM-D and PEN series of compact system cameras.


This week, Panasonic UK have announced a new standard zoom lens: the LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm f/2.8 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. This lens give you the 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-70mm. Coupled with the fixed f/2.8 aperture, the lens is suitable for capturing a wide range of scenes, from dynamic landscapes to portraits, taking advantage of beautiful defocus or fast shutter speed.


Today, Pentax UK have announced the latest Digital SLR in their line-up: the K30.

With the K-30, Pentax have introduced a mid-level DSLR that offers a great range of SLR features, packaged within a compact body, which is now similar to the K-5 in that it has a completely weather resistant body thanks to its 81 seals. It is designed to also be dustproof and coldproof (down to -10oC) meaning that you can take the camera on a variety of outdoor activities without needing to worry about the weather conditions.

Leica have today announced the latest new addition to the X-line of compact digital cameras - the Leica X2, an updated version of the Leica X1. The X2 has a larger sensor than the X1, boasting a high resolution of more than 16 megapixels. Leica have also improved the X2's autofocus system, enabling fast, precise and virtually silent focusing.

The digital future of black-and-white photography.

Countless iconic black-and-white photographs have been shot with the legendary cameras of the Leica M-System, and today Leica have announced the Leica MMonochrom. This is the first full-frame, 35 mm format digital camera to be designed exclusively for black-and-white photography. It is due to be available in the UK at the end of July.


Today, Olympus UK have announced a new ‘Tough’ camera to add to their current range of compact, rugged digital cameras: the TG-1.

This latest model is not only designed to work in extreme conditions in the same way that previous models from Olympus and other manufacturers does, and it boasts a high-speed f/2.0 lens which is ideal for low light conditions or shooting fast action. This is something that does not exist on any other rugged model that is currently on the market. Combined with a high-sensitivity 12 megapixel CMOS image sensor and TruPicTM VI image processor, taking jaw-dropping images in challenging situations with less noise and a quick response time ensure unmatched image quality.
