Voigtlander 10.5mm f/0.95 - super fast wide prime for Micro 4/3

The latest f/0.95 lens in the Voigtlander Micro 4/3 lens line up is the 10.5mm f/0.95 Aspherical.

Giving the equivalent in 35mm terms of a 21mm lens coupled with a super-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture opens up new possibilities for low-light shooting for micro 4/3 users.

The new 10.5mm would also be ideal for astrophotography with the fast aperture allowing the maximum amount of light to fall on the camera sensor during a time exposure.

The 10.5mm is constructed of 13 elements in 10 groups and offers a 93 degree angle of view.
72mm filters can be used and a lens hood is supplied in the box - a high quality metal clamp on design.
Minimum focus is just 17cm and the lens weighs in at 585g - heavy for a micro 4/3 lens but it does balance really well on camera.

The lens aperture ring has click stops at every half-stop and can be completely de-clicked (as with the others in the range by pushing forward and turning 180 degrees the aperture index mark ring thus allowing silent changes of aperture and ideal for video use.

The lens as with the others in the range is completely mechanical so does not communicate at all with the camera. It is important for Panasonic users to set shoot without lens to On in the menu system as otherwise the shutter will not fire.

Metering can be used on all micro 4/3 cameras and aperture priority automatic exposure and of course manual mode are available.

Focus peaking is very useful to use with these lenses - if your camera has this option when it is engaged the subject will have highlighted areas which are in focus making focussing very easy.
