New Launches of 2019

2019 is shaping up to be a big year for photography, there have already been a number of big launches as well as some smaller ones that you may have missed. We wanted to give a roundup of all the big launches that have already happened this year.

Panasonic Lumix S1 / S1R

Panasonic Lumix launched their brand new, full frame mirrorless camera at the beginning of February. We reviewed it and found that it's definitely worth paying attention to. The S1 is focused more towards video but certainly makes for an excellent hybrid camera while the S1R is slightly more photography focused.

Olympus OM-D E-M1X

Olympus launched their brand new line of OM-D cameras with the OM-D E-M1X. We found it to be fast, durable and capable of giving fantastic results. Autofocus is the big talking point here and the intelligent subject detection works exceptionally well but there's so much packed into this camera, it's definitely worth checking out.

Sony A6400

Replacing the A6300 and sitting just below the A6500, the new Sony A6400 is designed for both stills photographers and videographers. It's been designed in such a way that it will appeal in particular to bloggers and vloggers due to it's 180 degree rotating screen. The video features on this camera in particular, are very impressive.

Canon EOS RP

Canon launched their brand new compact, lightweight mirrorless camera. It's part of the RF ecosystem, just like the EOS R but it comes in at a nice, small size. It's actually very impressive how much Canon have managed to to pack into such a small body and similarly to the EOS R, we found it was great for low light photography.

Fujifilm X-T30

Following on from the fantastic X-T20 and the much more recent X-T3, Fujifilm have unveiled their brand new X-T30. We got a chance to try it out and found it to be a fantastic lifestyle camera, perfect for travel or everyday use due it's size. It's absolutely packed full of spec including a lot of great features from the X-T3. It's great for photo and for video but the autofocus is where it shines with everything having had an upgrade,

We will update this blog as and when new cameras and lenses are released so make sure to keep an eye out.
